On 9.12.2019 a new version of the popular page builder Elementor 2.8 was released, which is currently used by more than 5 000 000 professionals. This version brings a number of interesting new features. I will mention at least some of them.
A new way of working with paint
When creating a page, you probably play with colours most often, selecting and adjusting them for individual elements. If you often need to adjust the same colours, it’s a lot of work to mix the same one every time. Alternatively, it is necessary to have the codes for these colours marked in some text file and then copy them to Elementor if necessary. Another option is to define your own colour palette and choose from it. It was possible to do this in earlier versions of Elementor, but it was a bit cumbersome. The palette could only be defined in one centralized location and the number of custom colors was limited.
The new Elementor 2.8 has significantly improved this functionality. A custom color palette can be defined each time you set a color for an element. There is also no limit to the number of custom colours. You can change the order of the colours in the palette, delete unnecessary… If you add a color to the palette in one place, it is automatically available in the color picker across all elements on that page.
Dark mode
Sometimes you create pages with a dark design, and because Elementor controls are on a white background by default, it creates high contrast on the browser desktop, which can be tiring on the eyes. This same problem arises e.g. when working at night. Then it would be handy to have Elementor with the controls on a dark background, wouldn’t it?
But until now this was not possible to set, the dark mode is introduced only in this new version 2.8. Simply switch between dark and light mode in Elementor settings, or leave it on auto. Then Elementor will switch itself depending on the operating system settings.
