I observe not only with my customers that even though they have a website on their own domain (e.g. vasadomena.sk), they use emails on someone else’s domain (e.g. nieco@gmail.com) to communicate with their customers, which looks quite unprofessional.
When I talk to them about it, most of them have no idea that they can have emails hosted on their domain in addition to a website. It is so easy to set up emails (even 100 of them). Just log into your hosting company’s control panel and create them. For example. in WebSupport (I recommend it) you can create an email like this:
How to create an email
- login to the control panel at admin.websupport.sk
- in the Services section, choose the domain where you want to create the email
- in the left menu, click on “Emails / List / Mailboxes”
- click on the “Create new mailbox” button
- fill in the email name (e.g. info@vasadomena.sk), password and click on the “Create” button.
- Done, the email is created. Now just configure it in your favourite mail client and you’re ready to use it. To configure your email, click on the name of this email.
As a last step, I still recommend to redirect the email you have been using to this newly created one and use only this new one. Also, don’t forget to put it in the contacts on your website.
